This year's ArtSeed Showcase: Creativity in Bloom will include education, presentations, performances, and mingling. Learn how the 2025 ArtSeed grant projects contributed to Racine's vibrant arts community this year, from murals to concerts, with artists of all ages participating.

Making Social Media Matter by Kelly Kruse, Carthage College
Posting with Purpose: Creating content that drives results
This practical, strategy-focused session will show artist and others how to use social media with intention—building buyer personas, listening to their audience, and creating content that drives real engagement and measurable ROI, even with limited time and resources.
Leader Kelly Kruse, MFA, is a professor of graphic design and social media at Carthage College and the Director of the Downtown Racine Corporation. With more than 20 years of marketing experience, she leads all branding, content strategy, and social media efforts for Downtown Racine.
Creating with Canva Made Simple by Kaila Bingen, Universities of Wisconsin
Design without the Degree: Practical strategies to design with confidence
This session offers a beginner-to-intermediate introduction to Canva, covering essential design tools, templates, branding basics, and tips for creating polished, professional visuals efficiently. Participants will explore practical strategies for designing social media graphics, presentations, videos, and more with confidence—no prior design experience required!
Facilitator Kaila Bingen, Universities of Wisconsin, is an experienced trainer who has led Canva workshops for Leadership Kenosha, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and a variety of community organizations, bringing real-world examples and best practices to the learning experience.
Note: limited scholarships to the education sessions only are available to Racine Arts Council members and Racine county non-profit organizations. Contact [email protected] for scholarship information.
The fun continues at 3:00 with presentation tables from these 2025 ArtSeed Grant recipients: Burlington Public Library, Choral Arts Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, Racine Art Museum, Racine Concert Band, Megan Sunday & The Branch at 1501, Denise Zingg from Spectrum Gallery of the Arts and Gallery, and Sweatshop Movement.
We will have performances from Racine Symphony Orchestra, Over Our Head Players, and the Black Arts Council of Racine.
Network with artists and art supporters from across Racine's creative community while enjoying complimentary appetizers. Be there as we honor individuals who have contributed to the arts in Racine.

2025 artseed showcase: creativity in bloom

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, artists and arts organizations joined Racine Arts Council for the first ArtSeed Showcase: Creativity in Bloom.
Presenting a sample of the Arts in Racine and a chance to network with fellow arts appreciators, enjoy performances by past ArtSeed grantees, and hear presentations from current recipients! Artists, supporters and arts appreciators celebrated our local arts community. Prior to the event, practicing artists and arts professionals offered free drop-in consultations. Performing groups included Choral Arts Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, Racine Concert Band, Over Our Head Players, and Sweatshop Movement. In addition, BeLEAF Survivors, Racine Video Production, Racine Zoo, The Poetry Movement, and The QuaranTeam / Mansfield Mysteries had information stations to share about their ArtSeed projects. Along with recognizing the incredible talent in our community, the showcase celebrated the accomplishments of the Racine Arts Council and most importantly, proceeds fund future ArtSeed grants. Established in 1967, Racine Arts Council encourages, supports, and advocates on behalf of emerging and established artists, arts organizations and young people interested in the arts. RAC is the longest running arts council in the state. The ArtSeed grant program encourages and enhances the arts in Racine county. Through ArtSeed grants, Racine Arts Council has awarded over $135,000 in funds to support and grow the arts community. |
